Dr. Suzanne B. Phillips is a licensed Psychologist, Psychoanalyst, Diplomate in Group Psychology, Certified Group Therapist, Fellow and Board Member of the American Group Psychotherapy Association (AGPA). She is Adjunct Full Professor of Clinical Psychology at the CW Post Campus of Long Island University, N.Y. and on the faculty of both the Derner Institute of Adelphi University and the Suffolk Institute for Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy. She has provided services nationally and internationally on trauma and disaster. In February 2008, as Outreach Chair of AGPA, she gave testimony before Congress for the needs of military and their families.
She has written and presented on couples, marriages, uniformed services, bereavement, midlife, divorce, depression, the psychological impact of medical illness, couples coping with cancer, relationships as addictions, healing and recovery in the aftermath of suicide. She is the author of three books, and over twenty articles. Most recently she co-authored, Healing Together: A Couple’s Guide to Coping with Trauma and Post-Traumatic Stress.
As a weekly blogger for Psych Central, Dr. Phillips has posted over 160 blogs on a wide range of topics. Her blogs have been picked up by Tara Parker Pope of the NewYork Times and Huffington Post. She has appeared on national TV and is a frequent radio guest on Real Women on Health, MilitaryMotherTalkRadio, MotherhoodTalkRadio, and Boomers Rock.
