The Stories and Meaning Beneath Tattoos
Whether you have many tattoos or would never consider getting one, you will be fascinated by this show. Tattoos are increasingly part of mainstream culture and as you will hear, the reasons for tattoos are as varied as the people who choose to get them. Listen in as guests, Dr. Max Belkin, psychoanalyst and psychologist working with many clients with tattoos and Rob Palmer, teacher, craftsman and bearer of many tattoos, discuss their different perspectives on tattoos.

In the back and forth with host Dr. Suzanne Phillips, they use examples and stories to consider tattoos as unconscious representations of self, chapters in a life story, symbols of love and pain, to works of art. Underscoring and enlivening their discussion, are references to the audio clips you will hear from four very different people-- a young mother of baby twins, an ad man, a grandmother of nine, and a male pre-school teacher, who share the stories and meaning of their tattoos. Don't miss this show.
