Today we're having a conversation with Jim Martin, president of Jim Martin Consulting, about what kinds of things our returning vets are facing and how we can better support them. One of the things we discover along the way is that sometimes there's just no easy answers.
With unbelievable rates of homelessness, joblessness, PTSD, addiction, our returning vets face a lot of really tough challenges. And Jim helps to understand that one of the key things we can do to help our heroes is to try to further our understanding of just what they're going through.
It's the first of what we hope will be many conversations we have about how to better help our returning troops, the challenges they face, the sacrifices they've all made for us. It's an eye-opening, frustrating, beginning conversation of many more to come. You don't want to miss it!
For more information about Jim, his history, and his work with troops, you can contact him at jimbo_martin@comcast.net. And knowing that we want to have more conversations about this issue, if you are a vet or are involved with vets with a particular topic that you feel needs more discussion and awareness, tweet us at @CoSozo or drop us a line on our facebook page.
For more information about resources for our vets please visit www.va.gov. There are lots of resources available and Jim mentions Once a Warrior Always a Warrior as a great resource as well. If you know more, please let us know, we want to help.
