Building A Natural Birth Renaissance

Tell people you’re interested in a natural birth, and they just might look at you like you’ve lost your mind.

“Why in the world would you do that?” is the usual response. Women are called crazy, reminded that “you don’t get a medal at the end,” and scolded that they “don’t have to be a hero.” Worse yet, they’re sometimes insulted by those who assure them, “Oh, you’ll get the epidural.”

Enzyme Nutrition: Your Key to Unlocking Better Health

Changing the Question

There is only one question when it comes to your health: “What is stopping your body from healing?” Conventional medical care is primarily focused on managing symptoms, using medications that alleviate pain and prevent symptoms from worsening. Though we may get some relief, the underlying cause often remains untreated. We need to change the question from “How can we most effectively manage symptoms and pain?” to “How can we help your body heal?”

Ginseng May Help Treat a Variety of Ailments

Ginseng is a common ingredient in many energy drinks, but its proponents claim it has a number of benefits besides increasing alertness and stamina.1 The plain term “ginseng” refers to Panax ginseng (also known as Asian ginseng, Chinese ginseng, or Korean ginseng).2 Panax ginseng, the most widely used form, should not be confused with American ginseng or Siberian ginseng because these other types possess different medicinal properties.3

Healthy Food Choices: What’s Best For You?

Over the last few decades an ongoing debate continues in the world of nutrition. What forms healthy choices in one’s diet remains controversial. Is what is best for one person equally good for another? Is a high fat, moderate protein, low carbohydrate diet like the Atkins or Zone diet the best, or a high-complex carbohydrate, low fat diet recommended by the American Heart Association and other medical organizations?

Healthy Food Options

Eating healthier requires a shift in consciousness and habit patterns. It is easy to reach for the boxed or packaged food, or to eat fast food. There are healthier options for those families wanting the convenience of packaged food. Eating healthier food is an investment in better health and wellness for the entire family.

Stuffed Zucchini Blossoms: A Delicious and Elegant Treat

A few years ago, my wife and I went on an amazing culinary vacation to the Tuscan region of Italy. One of our favorite dishes, and there were many, was Fiori di Zucchini Farcito or Stuffed Zucchini Blossoms. Contact your local farmer to see if they will sell or perhaps give you their zucchini blossoms. Now is a great time to try this recipe because in Michigan, the zucchini harvest season is from June to October.

A lifestyle that was once shunned is now capturing the attention of our nation and gaining supporters!

Vitamins and Minerals: Working Together (Part 1)

Vitamins and minerals are nutrients that the body requires to function properly. Vitamins can be fat-soluble or water-soluble. The fat-soluble vitamins are vitamins A, D, E, and K. Fat-soluble vitamins dissolve in fat and are stored in the body. Water-soluble vitamins, such as vitamin C and the B vitamins, dissolve in water and cannot be stored by the body. Any water-soluble vitamins that your body doesn’t need pass through your system and are lost in urine.
