Soul R Express
Tamara's Blog
I have thought of several names for this Blog – Time with Tam, Otherwise, but my favorite is Soul-R-Express, because this space is for the discovery and expression of your Soul, your Heart. A bit of a metaphor for Polar express, speeding along, expressing your Self…and Soul R/Solar…for the bright Sun in all of us, that shines brighter as we fan the flames and feed the fire.

I have raised 2 sets of children with a large span in between, yes, teens and toddlers; five all together. It was a lot like being the guy in the top hat in a 3 ring circus, elephants, poles and all. I learned to be organized, ready for anything and very flexible, mentally I mean. I had married for a second time and so learned by trial and error, mostly error, how to blend this his, mine and ours family. There must be a training manual for this but not in 1983, so we learned, failed and learned some more. And yes, I loved every single moment of that phase of life, mostly because I knew it was temporary, the good and the not so good,” this too shall pass” was never so true.

I’m glad I did, because my oldest son died when he was 23 years old. My youngest child was 9 and I had been a trained facilitator at a center for grieving children since 1994.  I’m glad I had a bit of a heads up for that particular transition. It was monumental for all of us and we carefully, day by day, found our way toward healing and happiness. He was the best teacher of my life, as I leaned into it and learned all I could about myself, about death and about Life and Love. In 2003 I published a book, Demetrius: My Gift of Life, it is my journal through our experience of my son’s death and a darn good tool; If you have experienced the death of someone dear to you, it is full of support and permission to grieve and Heal. If you have not yet had a close death, it is a wonderful heads-up for living more fully yourself or supporting someone you know. As a result of that experience, between 2004-10, I was a co-host/guest on an Award winning Suicide Prevention Radio Program.

I have now been a Grief Coach and Life Coach for a lot of years; it is my Passion and my Honor to share in the lives of others who struggle with their grief. I have developed a great “roadmap” and tools to help you to strengthen again, find your balance and we can talk about this more, much, much more.

After that chapter, I began another major chapter when I divorced my husband of 17yrs and moved to a town I did not know, just in time, incidentally, for my aging parents to need my care and in my spare time, began to look for my Self again.

I learned sooooo much about using my voice, not settling for “I can make this work”, or “this will do”, I tried lots of experiences on for size and kept them or pitched them for something else and I began to meet my Self.  I will encourage you to do the same, to find your Truest Self, no matter what chapter of life you are living in this moment.

So now the kids are all successfully and happily launched on their way; btw, they are my favorite people on the planet and I am incredibly proud of the kind of people they have become and the contribution they deliver to the world, amazing.

For the past 14 years I have been busy discovering what I want, what I do best, my talents, my dreams, creating my wish list and being the change I wish to see in the World.

In the past few years I have learned to enjoy my own company and to cook, really cook, the kind of food that is nourishing and yummy, feeds the soul and places a smile upon my face.

And that my Love, is what it is all about, this is what we came here to do, to get busy and not waste another moment of this life; stop wasting time, stop wasting life, stop wasting Love, there is good work to be done and we will talk about all the wonderful ways in which we can become Commander of our Ships and Master of our Souls… right here!!

And just a brief word regarding my writing style; You will notice, and I hope it will not catch you up or distract you, but I will occasionally use a capital letter in a word in mid sentence and here is why:   I ask you to turn right onto Elm St, or, I ask you to search your Heart and find the Right path. I am not referring to the heart in your chest, but rather to the Heart of your Mighty Self. So notice the difference between turning right and the Right way, which gives it a whole other meaning.

I do not intend that this site be Faith based, I happen to call myself a student of the I Am and Universal Awareness so I do intend that we respect equally all who blog here, without judgment, without entitlement, after all we are each learning, finding our way, have found or are looking for our own Truth and are doing our very best with what we know right now.

My hope is that you will listen to my words or ideas, try them on for size, see if they fit, if not then toss them but I will hope that you might keep them in a back pocket to pull out at a later time, when you might say to yourself, “ahhhh, so that’s what she was talking about”… it happens.

So here we go!! Welcome to Soul R Express, I am excited to meet you, hear your thoughts, experiences and about where you want to go in this life, in this wide world, yes, you can get there from here!

Invite your friends and visit me often.

My very best to you, In Light and Love, Tamara
